The climate of Cyprus is a hot semi-arid (steppe) climate (Köppen: BSh), hot with low precipitation. Monthly temperatures range from a minimum of 16°C in winter (December–February) to a maximum of 37°C in summer (June–August). The average annual temperature is around 27°C.
During the winter months, nighttime temperatures can drop to an average of 6°C, while summer nights average around 23°C.
