August in Preikestolen was really a great time. Excellent hiking weather, pleasant temperature around 18 degrees. It rained occasionally, but that added to the charm of nature. Don't forget warm clothes.
The cool days were great for hiking, but there were also a few rainy days. There was still snow on the high peaks. Check the weather forecast before you leave!
Despite the general cold, several sunny days were breathtakingly beautiful. However, a lot of rain and clouds were expected.
July in Preikestolen was surprisingly mild. Despite showers that produced a spectacular rainbow, it was mostly sunny and pleasant. The temperature was around 15-20°C, which was ideal for hiking.
There is a lot of snow and ice, so make sure you have good equipment. Fog can occur suddenly. Therefore, always take a guide with you. It is inhospitable here, but in clear weather indescribably beautiful.
A wild winter wonderland, but be prepared for extreme weather conditions.
