The many bright, sunny days made the heat more bearable. The beaches were a wonderful place to relax.
California presented no less heat waves, and New York - autumn days. Warm sunshine and periodic rainfall created a contrasting atmosphere.
It was surprisingly warm in the southern states, but it was still a bit cool in the north. It rained occasionally, but overall it was pretty sunny.
It varied greatly by region, but was generally unpleasant and unpredictable. Thick coat is a must! We recommend choosing a different travel period.
Air temperatures ranged from moderate in the north to fairly warm in the south; ideal for an active vacation. A few days of rain could not spoil the fun.
The south was hot and humid, the north pleasantly mild and the west sunny and dry. All in all, a surprisingly complex range of climates!
The sun shone often, but the high humidity could be uncomfortable. Especially in the south, where severe thunderstorms sometimes occur. Make sure you have a plan B for outdoor activities.
